Dr. Bhalla is an Armed Forces Medical College, (AFMC) Pune alumni (MBBS) and MD, DNB in Community Medicine. He has been awarded Fellowship in Leadership and Implementation Sciences to address NCDs in India (PH Leader) jointly delivered by PHFI, Emory University and INSP Mexico. He has worked with VMMC, Safdarjung Hospital, National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), DFID Technical Support unit RCSHA & IIHMR, Delhi and Public Health Foundation of India and has vast experience of 22 years in public health programs implementation and management.  The Training Division at PHFI under his leadership was involved in upgrading skills, knowledge, and core competencies of healthcare professionals in various disciplines, both in India and abroad, through more than 30 contact based/ online programs and workshops. The programs were being conducted in over 600 centres across 121 cities in 28 states and UTs. A network of over 35,000 healthcare professionals have been trained. Dr. Sandeep is recipient of various awards nationally and internationally like BMJ India award 2014 as finalist, ASSOCHAM award for skill development 2016-17, DL-Shah Platinum Award in Quality sector 2017, FICCI health care excellence award 2018, CII Award for best NGO/Education 2018, 5th IHFW Award 2018. He is assessor for NABH, QCI and member of Academic Committee of Health Sector Skill Council and Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), Health Committee, He is also the Advisor for Training Committee of Association for Health Care Providers India (AHPI)and has around 40 publications. He is also Hon Advisor Training Division, PHFI. Currently he is Associate Vice President, ECHO India and looking after India operations for expansion of ECHO model.
