Evaluation of performance is a continuous process at IIHMR. To be recommended for the award of the diploma, the candidates are required to achieve a prescribed standard in the total course work, including both mid-term and the final written examination.

Award of PGDM
The following are the criteria for passing the examination and award of the Diploma of PGDM (Hospital and Health Management)
Attendance
Every student is expected to attend all the classes (not less than 75% in any case). No unauthorized absence from field placement is permitted. In exceptional circumstances Course Coordinator may permit leave of absence with prior permission of the Dean.
Examination
A student's performance is judged in the mid-term and end-term examinations. Every course carries and maximum of 100 marks. The mid-term exam includes assignments, class participation and written exam, whereas the end-term includes written exams. To clear a course every student has to score a minimum of 50% marks. Summer Training
Summer training is an integral part of the course. The students are also assessed on the basis of their performance during this period.
Dissertation and Internship
The second year students go for the three month dissertation at the end of second year followed by presentations. Each student is required to submit a thesis involving research in his/her area of interest.
