Professor
Dr. Anandhi Ramachandran is a Healthcare Information with several years of experiences that cuts across academics, research and training. After completing her PhD degree from University of Madras, she undertook short stints of post-doctoral research experiences from Department of Civil Eng. IIT, Madras and later in Lab of Membrane Biophysics & Biochemistry, NIAAA, NIH, and Rockville, USA. She also has additional post graduate diploma degrees in Computer Management (PGDCM), Management with Information System Specialization (PGDBM(IS)), Bioinformatics and Public Health Informatics (PGDPHI). Her professional experience includes working as a product manager in designing and developing healthcare and medical software products. Dr. Anandhi’s specialty encompasses the integration of evolving technology into Healthcare Practices. For past 20 years she has been actively engaged in teaching, research, training healthcare professionals and consultancy with particular focus on design, development, and implementation of simple technology-based solutions for delivering effective and quality healthcare. She has been privileged to work with top government education organization like NIELIT (formerly DOEACC) and is in continuous association with professional bodies like, Indian Association for Medical Informatics, Indian Association for Patient Groups, HIMSS India (Education and Women in HIT chapters) and International Society for Telemedicine and E-Health. Serving in cross-functional capacities and professional bodies have acquainted her with the best of field practices and awareness of the healthcare information technology environment. She has published many scholarly articles, has a well-funded research track, and plays active role as reviewer in notable journals like BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making, Journal of Medical Internet Research and International Journal of Healthcare Information Systems and Informatics. Her research interests include healthcare technology implementation (telemedicine & mobile apps), healthcare data science, healthcare technology evaluation, and utilizing the knowledge and experience gained to digital health skill building among healthcare professionals and students.
