Dr. Sutapa Bandyopadhyay Neogi

Director

Dr. Sutapa B. Neogi, currently serving as the Director at the International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) in Delhi, is a highly esteemed public health specialist. With her expertise, leadership, and dedication, she has made significant contributions to the field of public health. Dr. Neogi's visionary approach and commitment to nurturing future healthcare leaders have established her as a prominent figure in public health and healthcare Industry. With her extensive experience and expertise, she actively engages in research and teaching. 

Dr. Neogi holds an MBBS degree from NRS Medical College in Kolkata, an MD in Community Medicine from PGIMER in Chandigarh, and a DNB in Maternal and Child Health.

Dr. Neogi's mission is to mentor students and young professionals who can become catalysts for change in the future. She aims to cultivate individuals who can identify and address health-related issues, conduct scientific exploration, and engage in advocacy. In addition to her research and teaching endeavors, Dr. Neogi seeks to foster collaboration between different disciplines, such as engineering and medicine or social science and medicine. By creating synergy between research and programs, she aims to promote interdisciplinary research in the country. Dr. Neogi takes pride in leading and working with a capable team to achieve this goal.

She recently authored a book called "Gender before Birth in India (Role of Indigenous and Traditional Medicines)" which was published by Springer Gender Before Birth in India: Role of Indigenous and Traditional Medicines | SpringerLink. In recognition of her exceptional work in the field of public health, she has been honored with the "Best Women Researcher in Public Health" award by GISR, the "Most Inspiring Women Leaders Award" for her efforts in nurturing researchers to transform healthcare by TradeFloc, and the "Healthy India Health Ambassador Award" by Swasth Bharat Trust on National Doctor's Day, 2022. Her contributions to public health have been truly outstanding.
