We are delighted to wrap up our One-Day Workshop on "Geospatial Technology for Infectious Disease Monitoring and Management," which took place on 15th October 2024. Sponsored by ISRO's Disaster Management Support (DMS) Programme and led by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun, this initiative has provided an incredible platform for participants to explore how cutting-edge space technology can revolutionize disaster management and public health.
This Capacity Building workshop, as part of ISRO’s DMS program, motivated participants to develop innovative methods, tools, data products, and services in the field of disaster management using space technology. By integrating geospatial tools with infectious disease monitoring, the workshop proved to be a key element in shaping strategies for tackling complex health challenges.
A huge thanks to our esteemed faculty who enriched the sessions with their expertise:
We extend special gratitude to Dr. Raghavendra Singh (Director, IIRS Dehradun), Dr. Arijit Roy (Head, Disaster Management Science Department, IIRS Dehradun), and Dr. C.M. Bhatt (Course Director, RS & GIS, IIRS Dehradun) for their unwavering support and invaluable contributions to making this workshop a success.
Our heartfelt thanks to ISRO DMSP for trusting us with this opportunity, and to our Director, Dr. Sutapa B Neogi, for her continuous support and encouragement.
As we conclude, we look forward to applying the knowledge and tools gained from this workshop to enhance infectious disease monitoring and contribute to evidence-based practices in public health. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event an insightful and successful learning experience!
