IIHMR Delhi's kicked off on October 4th, 2023, under the valuable guidance of Dr. Sutapa B. Neogi Director of IIHMR Delhi) and Dr. Nidhi Yadav, (Associate Professor of IIHMR Delhi). In the ongoing Community Outreach Program for Disaster Risk Reduction the students of IIHMR Delhi took the initiative of sensitizing the unprivileged children at Deepalaya Learning Centre In Kalkaji area, New Delhi. It was made possible with the dedicated efforts of students like Ms. Jyoti and Ms. Tanushree. The children at this NGO actively participated and gained essential knowledge about causes, fire safety, earthquake preparedness, and emergency interventions. They showcased their learning through a mock drill and organized an engaging quiz competition.

In same line and with special focus on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in refugee camps, a noble mission—raising awareness about health and hygiene was demonstrated by anothre team of dedicated students from IIHMR Delhi, who left no stone unturned as they engaged in impactful activities, including captivating "nukkad natak" (street plays) and one-on-one conversations. A special shoutout to the incredible coordinators Madhu Thapa and Bandita Bharuah from Humanitarian Aid International (HAI) at the Signature Bridge Refugee Camp, whose dedication played a pivotal role in the successful completion of this event. IIHMR students demonstrated remarkable commitment in executing the event seamlessly.

These efforts highlight the importance of community engagement and the role of education in building a safer, resilient and informed society. We look forward to more such impactful initiatives in the future! Let's continue to shine a light on the path of health and hygiene for all, one community at a time. Together, we can make a difference!
