IIHMR Delhi celebrated World Mental Health Day 2023 with an online learning event on 11 October 2023, with conversations on the theme "Mental health is a universal human right". The webinar focused on mental health issues around vulnerable population groups and opportunities to address them. 

Prof Preetha GS set the tone for the discussions with a compelling opening address, Dr Ekta Saroha shared her valuable insights into reducing inequities from a mental health perspective, Dr Rupsa Banerjee explained this year's WHO campaign for World Mental Health Day, Air Cmde Dr Sanjay Sharma shed light on the critical topic of mental health among the LGBTQIA++ community with a focus on inclusive action, Prof Rajendra Surenthirakumaran provided an enlightening discourse on mental health in conflict and public health emergencies and post emergency settings, Dr Tannistha Samanta delivered an impactful address on the concerns surrounding older people living solo in later life highlighting the challenges and opportunities, and Dr Ansuman Mitra delved into the critical aspects of delivering psychological first aid in humanitarian crisis situations.

The event saw active participation, engagement and appreciation from participants who joined from across the country and set the stage for continued collaboration in our collective efforts towards a mentally healthier world.
