The 77th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at the IIHMR Delhi campus. The event aimed to commemorate the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and to instil a sense of patriotism among the students and staff. The campus was adorned with vibrant tricolour decorations, reflecting the spirit of unity and diversity that India stands for.

The celebration commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge and wisdom by Dr.Sutapa B. Neogi, Director IIHMR, Delhi and Ms.Divya Aggarwal, Associate Dean. This ritual symbolized the enlightenment of minds and the pursuit of knowledge, aligning with the values of IIHMR.

The national flag was unfurled by the esteemed Director, Dr.Sutapa B. Neogi, signifying the sovereignty and pride of our nation. The audience stood in respect as the tricolour fluttered in the air, filling the atmosphere with a sense of pride and unity. It was followed by the national anthem.

Following the flag hoisting and national anthem, a brief interlude allowed attendees to enjoy refreshments and engage in informal conversations, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the IIHMR community.

A heartfelt speech was delivered by a student, highlighting the significance of Independence Day and the importance of preserving the hard-earned freedom. The speech inspired the audience to value and contribute to the nation's progress.

Students with a penchant for poetry showcased their talent through patriotic poems that encapsulated the struggles of the freedom fighters and the beauty of India's diversity.

The Director graced the occasion with her melodious voice, singing a soul-stirring patriotic song that resonated with the audience's patriotic sentiments. The song invoked a sense of unity and love for the motherland.

A mesmerizing dance performance themed around the cultural diversity of India captivated the audience.

A spirited patriotic quiz tested the participants' knowledge of India's history, culture, and freedom struggle. The quiz not only entertained but also educated the attendees about various aspects of our nation's journey to independence.

The Independence Day celebration at IIHMR Delhi was a resounding success, evoking a strong sense of patriotism and unity among the students, faculty, and staff. The diverse range of activities showcased the multifaceted nature of India's independence movement and the essence of being an Indian. The event was a reminder of the sacrifices made by our forefathers and an inspiration to contribute positively to the growth and development of our beloved country.
