Introduction:

The Institute offers one-year full-time Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM) Logistics & Supply Chain Management program, Approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). Logistics and supply chain management are essential to carry out any health care program/activities. It deals with the flow of medical supplies and services from manufacturer to patients i.e., the point of consumption. Keeping in view the sensitivity of materials responsible for life and death, the supply chain management in health care requires stringent measures for manufacture, transportation, warehousing and distribution to the point of use. Keeping in view the above said, the module deals with day-to-day problems in supply chain management, forecasting of materials requirement at primary health care and secondary health care levels, transportation and warehousing of materials, inventory control and cost containment. It also deals with hospital supplies, maintenance of medical equipment. To achieve this objective, a course in logistics and supply chain management with an overall goal to provide a fundamental understanding of key issues related to quality control of materials, legal and ethical issues, measuring materials management performance in supply chain has been designed.
