Research Officer

Ritika holds a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from Delhi University, complemented by a Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology from the Delhi Paramedical and Management Institute (DPMI). Additionally, she has earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Hospital Management (PGDHM) from the International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR Delhi), specializing in Hospital Management. Her academic qualifications are reinforced by extensive experience in program planning, strategizing, organizing, scientific research writing, compilation, and publication.

Currently serving as a Research Officer at IIHMR-Delhi, her professional expertise spans diverse domains including climate change, disaster management, hospital management, public health, epidemiology, social awareness, responsibility, and advocacy. She is actively involved in developing research designs and protocols, establishing data collection methodologies, performing data analysis, and conducting monitoring and evaluation activities.

In addition to her academic qualifications and professional experience, she has collaborated as a co-author on book chapters focusing on disaster management, contributing valuable insights to the academic literature in this field. She has presented papers at various conferences and seminars making contributions to the field of disaster management through her research and outreach efforts. Her commitment to knowledge dissemination and community engagement is evident through her active participation in and organization of workshops catering to diverse populations. These workshops have targeted a wide range of audiences, including:

1. Students: Empowering the younger generation to become future leaders.

2. Healthcare workers: Enhancing their skills in emergency response and disaster management.

3. Vulnerable populations:

  • Children: Focusing on age-appropriate disaster awareness and safety measures.
  • Sex workers: Addressing specific challenges and risks faced by this community during disasters.
  • Transgender individuals: Tailoring disaster preparedness information to meet their unique needs.
  • Migrant workers: Educating them on disaster preparedness and risk reduction strategies.

By engaging with these diverse groups, she has demonstrated her ability to adapt disaster management principles to various contexts and populations, ensuring that vulnerable communities are better prepared for potential hazards. Her role demands proficiency in synthesizing complex information into actionable insights and contributing to the advancement of healthcare research.
