The international institute of health management research (IIHMR) New Delhi was established in October 1984 under the societies registration act 1958. With the fundamental purpose of creating new knowledge and developing alternative modes of improving healthcare. It was set up in 2008 to focus on national and international health to cater to the country’s growing needs. The institute has established a new paradigm of management of capacity development among healthcare professionals at the national, state, and district levels in leadership.

Features of our training and development program

IIHMR has taken up the role of a leading training institution to improve management practices in health and related systems. Developing managerial and leadership skills at various levels in health care, including hospitals, is the vital mission of IIHMR.

Customized training: The institute customizes training programs based on requests received from different national and international healthcare organizations. Students are trained as per their skills and scenario in the market. In customized training, we, as IIHMR, address our institute’s specific challenges. Management of the institute tries to close the gap between where students are and where they need to be.

Patient safety: A management institute teaches its students that patient safety is paramount. A patient must feel safe with his doctor. As healthcare workers, we should try our 100% to save a patient’s life.

Risk acceptance IIHMR: We teach students to accept the risk. Sometimes we have to take risks for the patient’s life. For example, a patient who immediately needs to shift in the OT for an operation may not be successful but still needs to be operated on because this operation may save his life.

Training and development program launched by IIHMR:

  1. The HELP course on health emergencies in large populations is a two-week course on the principles and practice of humanitarian action in response to emergencies.
  1. Life skills and personal effectiveness as IIHMR gives training to students that don’t let their problems get in the way of their success and focus on their overall ability to find the motivation to keep going.
  1. Teamwork for a healthy environment IIHMR always promotes collaboration for a healthy habitat because this motivates students in parallel and aligns them to work harder, cooperate, and support one another. Individuals are diverse.
  1. Mdp on public health management for NHM Orissa IIHMR launched a management development program on public health for NHM Orissa for four days from 11feb to 14 Feb 2020; the primary goal of this program was to promote public health management for the national health mission.

ConclusionIIHMR Delhi trains its students for the present and the future to deal with any present and future problems and make the right decisions with less time, which is very important for their profession because a patient’s life is entirely dependent on their doctor. Always staying calm in any situation can make you very successful in any discipline.
