A training program for hospital administration for Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital, Bhutan was organized from March 28- April 4, 2017. The course aimed at learning modern management techniques in hospital functioning. Besides interactive classroom sessions, the participants were engaged in field studies, discuss their hospital problems and suggest solutions, field visits to corporate hospitals, case studies etc. The participants highly appreciated the course contents and conduct of the course. Their remarks that the course has been an eye opener for them on many managerial issues, especially digitalization of hospital services and day to day management, led to sending 96 participants in total 4 batches (March 28- April 4, 2017, April 5- 12, 2017, June 2- 9, 2017 and July 4- 11, 2017 respectively.
A similar experience happened with participants from Ministry of Health-Sri Lanka when their 4 Medical officers attended our WHO fellowship program and recommended sending of 67 medical officers in two batches to IIHMR Delhi for Hospital Management Training Program.
